Working In Partnership
Bluelight is a multi-agency partnership, which tackles the problems of under age drinking and it's associated problems. It has been operating successfully in Australia for over 35 years and has expanded to other countries in the world.
Operating in Dunfermline for almost 6 years now, Bluelight Discos have seen almost 20,000 young people, aged between 12 and 16, attend and have had a considerable impact on crime and anti social behaviour in the area.
We are writing to you to highlight volunteering opportunities at Bluelight. To keep the monthly Dunfermline discos running (Friday night between 6:30 and 11 p.m) we urgently need more workers / volunteers to maintain adequate staffing ratios.
Bluelight can offer the following benefits:-
Young People
- Safe environment
- Free from alcohol, drugs and objectionable behaviour
- Socialising, life skills and confidence building
- Engaging with various agencies obtaining information important to them
Volunteers
- Engaging with young people
- Networking and partnership work with a variety of agencies
- Opportunity to contribute to the community
- Do something different!
Would this be something of interest to you? If so please contact Joyce Hay on 08451 55 55 55 Ext. 446106 or e-mail - Joyce.hay@fife.gov.uk for more details on how to become a volunteer.
