POLICE IN Burntisland last week took the opportunity to drop into the towns Toll Centre where Burntisland out of schools service (BOSS) were running events.
PC Keith Gibb said : “ I approached the staff at BOSS (Burntisland out of schools service) at the Toll Centre, Burntisland, some time ago as I was aware they run a summer play scheme for kids of varying ages, between 4 and 13 years. As a local officer I am determined to increase the level of interaction between the community and myself.
“I considered it beneficial to introduce myself to the kids in less formal surrounding rather than at school and to try to establish a greater level of trust and engagement with the Police amongst the children. The week comprised of various activities, including beach treasure hunts, swimming and a trip to Ravenscraig Park in Kirkcaldy. The week was very successful and a strong working relationship was developed between myself and the staff and it's hoped that this paves the way for future visits and engagement.”
